Don't you just hate bad pictures of yourself? I know I do.

Right after I got my wedding pictures back, I realized there was something wrong.

We had one of the most magical weddings I've ever attended (not to toot my own horn too much) but it was *really* fun. Everyone had a blast, it was a sunny, beautiful day, right on the water, and people talked about how much fun they had for months afterwards. I even often hear people compare our wedding as a benchmark against others.

The problem? The pictures looked like everyone was having a horrible time! Half smiles abound, or droopy boring looking faces.

If I was to judge the "awesomeness" of the wedding by the pictures alone, I'd think that ours was one of the most sad and pathetic weddings ever! I was so disappointed and upset because I can never get those moments back, and I can't re-do the experience.

That negative experience of looking at my wedding photos almost instantly motivated me to go into a photo-taking frenzy and I took as many pictures and video as I could whenever we were doing anything I wanted to remember later.

I learned as much as possible, and practiced through experience until my wife just about went insane from the number of pictures I was taking. But I was obsessed! Years later, I think it's all paid off, and I can now look back on our "fun times" and feel good about what I see.

I hope to continue learning, and taking even more photos and videos of our fun times together.
